Butcher: You Keeping busy?

Frank Goode: Yeah, I've been busy.

Butcher: Busy doin' what?

Frank Goode: Busy in the garden.

Butcher: [wryly] In the garden, you know what, you're missing work, that's what, I can see that.

Frank Goode: No I'm not missing work.

Butcher: Yeah, you miss the buzz and the jokes and the guys, I know that, don't tell me that's not true.

Butcher: [Grant Grant is eyeballing a display counter filled with raw meat] Howdy, Mr. Grant.

Grant Grant: Oh, hey there, Killer.

Butcher: What can I do you for?

Grant Grant: Gimme a couple of your ribeyes.

Butcher: How many you need?

Grant Grant: Eight. Naw... ten. Uhm, no, no. You know what? Gimme fourteen.

Butcher: Having a party?

Grant Grant: Yeah, something like that. It's a... little surprise for the wife.

Felix Ungar: [in the meat department of the supermarket, to the butcher] I'd like, uh, fresh ground.

Butcher: [pointing to the package of hamburger in Felix's hand] That's fresh.

Felix Ungar: That's not fresh. That's packaged. I want fresh.

Butcher: How much?

Felix Ungar: Four pounds. Exactly.

[the butcher gives him a weird look, then turns away to get his hamburger]

Butcher: First of all, you need to calm the fuck down and go gargle funky.

Jeremy Capello: [after ordering lots of meat and then a pint of pig's blood] Uh.. how much for just the blood...?

Butcher: [grinning] First time, eh, kid?

Trina: [McTeague sent her to the butcher with $1.00 to get some meat, turning up her nose at the prices] Got anything cheaper?

Butcher: [picks up a bucket] Three days old.
