Marshal Quotes:

  • Marshal: Thorpe, why don't you get back on the Penzy Belle (a riverboat) and make yourself scarce. If you're here when the boat pulls out, the boys will certainly lead your pony out from under ya.

  • Marshal: Chaw?

Big Joe: [Lighting his pipe] When I want to chew on horseshit, I'll let you know.

  • Drew Dixon: Marshall, you wouldn't want it on your conscience that you hung an innocent man!

Marshal: Get outta here, kid. I wanna go to bed.

  • [after discovering Laurie is Michael's sister]

Sam Loomis: [to the Marshall] Turn this car around, now!

Marshal: I can't do that. I have orders.

[draws gun and points it at him]

Sam Loomis: Well those orders have changed!

Marshal: Doctor, you're getting yourself into a lot of trouble.

Sam Loomis: What is it you guys usually do? Fire a warning shot, right?

[Loomis shoots out the window, and the car screeches and turns about]

  • Sam Loomis: I ought to handcuff you to the wheel, but I have a feeling I'm gonna need you in there. Can I trust you?

Marshal: What have I got to lose, except my job?

  • Sam Loomis: [to Marion] There's a two-way radio in the Marshal's car. I want you to go outside, get on that radio and get Hunt!

Marshal: Now, wait a minute! I'm the only one authorized to use that!

    Sam Loomis: [to Marion] Move!

  • [Walk up to the jailbird wagon]

    Marshal: Climb in.

Dale Kenyon: You mean ride in that!

    Marshal: Sure!

Dale Kenyon: I won't do it!

Roy Rogers: Then you'll have to run along behind.

  • Dale Kenyon: Oh, my goodness! poor man! He stepped right in front of me! Well don't just stand there, get some water! Get a doctor, quick!

Keno: Reckon we better find out who he is first. He may not be worth savin'.

[Takes Roy's money out of his pocket]

Keno: I'll take care of this till he comes to."

Roy Rogers: No you don't! Shame on you picking an unconscious man's pocket.

Dale Kenyon: The idea, pretending you were hurt.

Roy Rogers: I thought it was a good idea.

Dale Kenyon: Well, I hope you got bumped hard enough to look where you're going.

Roy Rogers: Oh, but I'm afraid I've been bumped harder than you realize. May I, ah, have your name and address?

    Dale Kenyon: You may not!

Roy Rogers: But I have an internal injury I'd like to come around and talk to you about.

Dale Kenyon: You have a colossal nerve!

Roy Rogers: Takes nerve in a competitive world. I'll bet I have a lot of competition. Unless you're married.

Dale Kenyon: No... Yes, I am. I'm married and I have five children.

Roy Rogers: But I heard you the first time.

Dale Kenyon: Well I'm not interested in what you heard, nor in standing here talking to you, and furthermore...

    Marshal: Your under arrest!

Dale Kenyon: ...your under arrest! What for?

Marshal: For arguing in the street, that's against celebration rules.
