  • As the United States chains itself down with greater debt, China is building relationships across the globe to bolster its trade, its access to natural resources, and its energy consumption. In far too many cases, this means lost opportunities for America and our businesses.

  • Candidate Obama was either exceptionally naive or willfully disingenuous when he vowed to change the way Washington works. The very promise of Hope and Change was rooted in uprooting the Washington modus operandi. But instead of rejecting it, he embraced it all - the secrecy, the closed doors, the political favors, the near-criminal negligence.

  • He's a family man and a businessman. He spent his career building successful companies. Then, he saved the 2002 Olympics and brought pride to our nation. As governor, he balanced the budget, cut taxes, and created jobs. The president America needs is Mitt Romney!

  • Obama has demonstrated no desire to make tough choices. Americans demand a more efficient, effective government, but his budget calls for more taxes and more spending. It employs deceptive accounting gimmicks but does nothing to tackle long-term entitlement problems, nothing to save Medicare or fix Social Security.

  • Governor Romney has a record of tremendous accomplishments. But he never asks for accolades. He just asks, 'How can I help?' That's the mark of a true leader: A humble focus on getting the job done.

  • At the end of the day, the only things that are shovel ready around here are the words coming out of Barack Obama and Joe Biden's mouth.

  • Free enterprise, individual opportunity, limited government. They made America great; only they can keep America strong.

  • To distract from the president's disappointing record, Team Obama has decided to base their entire campaign on attacking the private sector and Mitt Romney's career as a successful businessman.

  • Since Medicare is on track to go bankrupt in 2024, the de facto Obama Medicare plan is to rob it and watch it disappear, leaving future generations without any hope of receiving benefits and today's seniors with an unpredictable future.

  • For all their scare tactics, President Obama and Democrats have no plan whatsoever to preserve Medicare for future generations - or protect it for today's seniors and those nearing retirement. They did, however, cut Medicare by $700 billion to bankroll Obamacare.

  • We want to repeal the ObamaCare tax. We want to save middle class families from European health care. And that's what we're going to do as a party and that's what Mitt Romney will do on day one.

  • The last four years under President Obama have been trying and troubling for this entire country. The tired big government policies of the past have failed us. We can't afford more disappointments. We need a new direction. We need a new president.

  • Because of President Obama's failed record on nearly every issue from the economy to the deficit to Medicare, the Obama campaign has become increasingly dirty, despicable, and desperate.

  • The Democrats' agenda isn't working for women. Their vision has produced big government and limited opportunity. Our vision is for limited government and opportunity for all. Women deserve better than what President Obama has delivered.

  • The economic message is a winner whether you're Greek, whether you're a woman, whether you're Hispanic it doesn't matter. The economic message is a winner and the fact that Obama didn't fulfill his promises is a killer for him.

  • Each and every day, Israel remains on the frontline along with the United States in the War on Terror and is nothing but an unabashed ally of pro-democratic and pro-American policy.

  • [James Comey] term extends for some time yet. There's no plans at the moment in changing that term. And we've enjoyed our relationship with him and find him to be extraordinarily competent.

  • [Ronald] Reagan talked to people across the world and he was very successful in communicating and treating people with dignity and respect, but putting America first in every single we do.

  • Beginning with the stimulus, Obama has repeatedly inserted the government into the free market for political reasons - and with disastrous results.

  • Obama sees everything backward. Where Americans see individual achievement, he sees government's work. Where we see failing companies, he sees innovation worth subsidizing. Where we see the need for economic growth, he sees a need for higher taxes.

  • The fact of the matter is most women are pro life.

  • [President Donald Trump ] trusts the CIA. This is about 17 or so unnamed agencies in an unnamed report that based the report on something that is totally false. The RNC was not hacked. And so the report is basically trying to make the case that the RNC was hacked, the DNC was hacked, and the only e-mails that came out were DNC e-mails, so therefore, this is the conclusive report that the Russians or whoever was doing the hacking wanted to unfairly change the election.

  • All of the promises of ObamaCare, all of those shiny objects that were sold in Christmas in 2009 didn't come true.

  • A reporter shoots first, aims later.

  • As part of that negotiation [with China], as part of fulfilling that promise, all of these issues are on the table. But at the same time, Rex Tillerson is correct, there's no predetermined path here. But it's something that is going to be discussed and decided down the road.

  • Here's the problem, we need folks like John Lewis and others who, I think, have been champions of voter rights, to actually recognize the fact that Donald Trump was duly elected.

  • Hillary Clinton's too risky for America.

  • I also think we have got other great choices to make. The conclusion has not been made. There's no announcement that's coming today, as far as Secretary of State is concerned.

  • I also want to make sure that when we debate these things [hackers attacks], that we actually have the facts that are very clear in front of us to have this debate.

  • I can assure all Americans that the best decision is going to be made based on all of the information presented to the president.

  • I don't know who did the hacking [through president election 2016]. The article is based on a lie that the R.N.C. was hacked. So the entire premise of the article is false. The sources are unnamed. And the report was inconclusive. The point is, though, we need to find out more facts about this situation. Then we can make intelligent decisions later, and you and I can have more intelligent conversation about what to do about it.

  • I don't think divestiture is too high a price to pay to be the president of the United States of America.

  • I know that some of the folks in the press are uptight about this [moving the press corps out of the West Wing ], and I understand. What we're - the only thing that's been discussed is whether or not the initial press conferences are going to be in that small press - and for the people listening to this that don't know this, that the press room that people see on TV is very, very tiny. Forty-nine people fit in that press room.

  • I mean, on one hand Rex Tillerson is correct, there are no plans to change the One China policy. But certainly that policy is on the table if China doesn't also come to the table and work with us on trade, work with us on the South China Sea on what's happening there.

  • I mean, Rex Tillerson is in the business of exploring and finding oil across the globe.

  • I think Iran deal is on life support, I'll put it that way, but I'm not here to declare one way or the other where it will go. But I do believe it's on life support. I know the president-elect does not like the Iran deal, thinks it's really, really bad. And that's sort of the starting point on that discussion.

  • I think it's yet to be seen how that is going to shape up. But I can tell we all know that President-elect [Donald] Trump doesn't like the Iran deal, thinks it's a terrible document, thinks it will create a nuclear arms race in the Middle East, which it already is beginning to do.

  • I think Jason Chaffetz was correct to call for an investigation into the Government Ethics Department in the government for the positions that they've taken in this campaign.

  • I think the president-elect [Donald trump] also supports anything we can do to put an end to these sorts of incidents from taking place in our country.

  • I think what you're going to get from President-elect [ Donald] Trump is all of his folks together - Rex Tillerson, James Mattis, John Kelly, CIA, Homeland Security, everyone that you would want in the room, making decisions about that particular document and treaties like that document as to how we're going move forward.

  • If [Donald Trump] doesn't make sure that all the foreign government payments - and this includes banks and other corporations owned by foreign governments and sovereign wealth funds, that all of that money is not out of the Trump organization by Friday [20 Jan.2017], when he takes the oath, he will be in violation of "The Constitution."

  • I'm not in those top secret meetings, nor would it be appropriate - the president can't tell me what's hap - what's being said in a top secret meeting unless I have top secret clearance. I will eventually be in those meetings.

  • I'm not the president, so the president, has top secret clearance immediately. I don't. It takes time.

  • I'm supporting anything that we can do to find out how this stuff is happening.

  • I'm sure appropriate measures will be explored as to what to do if that is concluded to make sure that number one, it doesn't happen again and make sure that we put systems in place that protect Americans.

  • I'm telling as an actual source to the press,I'm telling you as a source that, to the best of my knowledge, and based on conversations that the RNC has had with the FBI, I know of no instance that [George Stephanopoulos] describing involving the RNC or the RNC's data.

  • In fact, I think [Donald Trump] welcomes the fact that he's got people in the room that may not agree with each other on everything, but he prefers to be presented opinions that are varying at the same time and then making an informed decision based on everyone's input before making decisions.

  • It doesn't mean we're not going to be tough across the world, it doesn't mean that we're not going to always put America first in everything we do. But we have big problems in this world. And I don't think we can solve these big problems by making believe that people don't exist. They exist. We have to talk to people.

  • It is a massive, undeniable failure and a heap of broken promises.

  • It's a little premature to be claiming that this is a done deal, but certainly Rex Tillerson is American icon and businessman that I think is a pretty incredible guy.

  • It's important to understand that the president [Donald Trump] is now entering a world of public service. He's going to be asking his own appointees to make sacrifices. He's going to be asking our men and women in uniform to risk their lives in conflicts around the world.

  • It's not going to be sitting there producing The Apprentice. I can assure you of that. It's something that [Donald Trump] owns. It's a title he owns, but I'm telling you he's going to be 100 percent focused in the White House.

  • Melting icebergs aren't beheading Christians in the Middle East,

  • Merely taking the profits from the hotels and putting those aside is not enough. They need to look at bank loans. They need to look at foreign banks leasing space in the Trump Tower.

  • Most Americans agree that federal money, their tax money shouldn't be used to help pay for abortions.

  • Moving forward, the best way is going to be something that is going to be a collective decision, that is made, of course, with President-elect [Donald] Trump having the primary say as to how to move forward. But all those opinions will be in the room.

  • People voted for Donald Trump. They want to repeal and replace ObamaCare. And we will.

  • Rex Tillerson is 's in the business of exploring and finding oil across the globe. You have to go where the oil is at, and the fact that he actually has a relationship with people like Vladimir Putin and others across the globe is something that shouldn't be - we shouldn't be embarrassed by it, it's something that I think could be a huge advantage to the United States.

  • Some of the conflict of interest laws do apply to the president, particularly The Emoluments Clause to "The Constitution," which prohibits any type of benefit from a foreign government.

  • Stepping back from running [Donald Trump] positions is meaningless from a conflict of interests perspective. The presidency is a full-time job and he would have had to step back anyway.

  • That is the White House, where you can fit four times the amount of people in the press conference, allowing more press, more coverage from all over the country to have those press conferences. That's what we're talking about.

  • The founders knew that foreign governments would try to meddle in our elections, meddle in our politics. And they did not want any foreign government money coming to anyone holding a position of trust with our government.

  • The head of the government ethics ought to be careful, because that person is becoming extremely political. Apparently, may have made a - publicly supported Hillary Clinton as calling out the president with information on Twitter about our disentangle - disentangling of the business over a month ago.

  • The Office of Government Ethics has taken the right position on this, one consistent with many Republicans and Democrats. And by the way, OGE and Walt Shaub in particular, were very, very helpful in moving the [George W. Bush] nominees through. This is not a partisan organization at all.

  • The one thing that we discussed was whether or not we want to move the initial press conferences in the EOB, which, by the way, is the White House. So no one is moving out of the White House.

  • The report also said that there wasn't agreement among the 17 agencies. When the FBI came out - they came out - when there was a conclusion on the DNC, their conclusion was very clear and they made it public. Now, if the CIA or whoever else comes out. But they didn't conclude that it was Russia.I don't care if it's Russia or whoever, they shouldn't - we're going to protect Americans. We don't want these countries or whoever else these people are hacking our country, our parties, our - we protect our Americans. We don't like it. We're against it.

  • The Republican path to victory is compromised when gay Americans are perceived as being attacked for just being how God created them.

  • The Russians didn't tell Hillary Clinton to ignore Wisconsin and Michigan, OK?

  • There are no plans in President-elect [Donald] Trump's policies moving forward to touch Medicare and Social Security.

  • There's a lot going on that is hurting this country. And there's a lot of businesses and a lot of people that put President-elect [Donald] Trump in office because they are counting on him to get our relationships with China straightened out.

  • There's an obsession by the media to delegitimize Donald Trump, and we are not going to sit around and let it happen. We're going to fight back tooth and nail every day, and twice on Sunday.

  • This is all very interesting, but Donald Trump won in an electoral landslide that had nothing to do with the Russians.

  • This is Donald Trump. He wants to respond. You know how he is.

  • Those are things that we're going to be discussing over the next several weeks. But certainly ObamaCare is something that isn't very popular around the country. In fact, it's like an 80/20 issue right now for Republicans. It's not working. People aren't choosing their doctor. They're not keeping their health care. Premiums are not going down, they're going up.

  • Walt Shaub is a dedicated public servant, has come up through the ranks under both Democrats and Republicans.

  • Walt Shaub is a true ethics hero for speaking out.

  • We are now debating and talking about a story [Russian hacker attack] based on something that isn't true.

  • We contacted the FBI months ago, when the DNC issue came about. They've reviewed all of our systems. We have hacking detection systems in place.

  • We have to protect America. So I'm all for finding out how in the world this stuff is happening and so that we can put systems in place to protect Americans.

  • We started thinking if we can have more people involved instead of less people involved, wouldn't that be a good thing?

  • We want to protect American interests. It's America first. I don't want the D.N.C. hacked. I don't want anybody hacked. But I don't know who did the hacking. That's my point.

  • We will cover those folks that are on ObamaCare that need to be covered, but at the same time, we're going to find ways to lower prices, allow people to choose better doctors, and have a lot more freedom when it comes to health care.

  • What I can't do is have an intelligent conversation with [George Stephanopoulos] about a report in "The New York Times" that is unnamed, inconclusive, and based on something that isn't true.

  • When you have hotels and businesses and retail space across the entire world, it takes time to unpack that and to put this in a place that makes sense for him and the family.

  • You have no idea whether the hacking even influenced the election.
