Harry Potter: [Walking into a clearing in the Forest, Harry pulls the Snitch from his pocket] I'm ready to die.

[He kisses it, and it opens to reveal a small black stone]

Harry Potter: The Resurrection Stone...

[he holds it in his hands, and closes his eyes. As he opens them, his parents, Sirius, and Remus appear in the clearing]

Lily Potter: [Lily smiles at her son and holds her hand out to him. Harry reaches out to touch it, but finds his own hand just passes through hers] You've been so brave, sweetheart.

Harry Potter: Why are you here? All of you?

Lily Potter: We never left.

Harry Potter: [He turns to Sirius] Does it-does it hurt? Dying?

Sirius Black: Quicker than falling asleep.

James Potter: You're nearly there, son.

Harry Potter: I'm sorry. I never wanted any of you to die for me.

[He turns to Lupin]

Harry Potter: And Remus, your son...

Remus Lupin: Others will tell him what his mother and father died for. One day, he'll understand.

Harry Potter: You'll stay with me?

James Potter: Until the end.

Harry Potter: And he won't be able to see you?

Sirius Black: No.

[He reaches towards Harry's heart]

Sirius Black: We're here, you see.

Harry Potter: Stay close to me.

Lily Potter: Always.

[He drops the Stone, and is once again alone]

Harry Potter: Does it hurt to die?

Sirius Black: Quicker then falling asleep.

Sirius Black: I don't have much time, Harry, so let's get right to it. Did you or did you not put your name into the Goblet of Fire?

Harry: No!

Sirius Black: Shh. I had to ask. Now tell me about this dream of yours. You mentioned Wormtail and Voldemort, but who was the third man in the room?

Harry: I dunno.

Sirius Black: You didn't hear a name?

Harry: No. Voldemort was giving him a job to do. Something important.

Sirius Black: And what was that?

Harry: He wants... me. I don't know why, but he was going to use this man to get to me. But, I mean, it was only a dream, right?

Harry: Do you think one of them put my name in the Goblet?

Sirius Black: I haven't a clue who put your name in the Goblet, Harry, but whoever did is no friend to you. People die in this tournament.

Harry: I'm not ready for this, Sirius!

Sirius Black: [in his letter] "Harry, I couldn't risk sending Hedwig. Since the World Cup the Ministry has been intercepting more and more owls, and she's too easily recognized. We need to talk, Harry, face to face. Meet me in the Gryffindor Common Room at one o'clock, this Saturday night. And make sure you're alone. Sirius. P.S...?

[the bird bites Harry's hand]

Harry: AH!

Sirius Black: "The bird bites."

Sirius Black: I expect you're tired of hearing this, but you look so like your father. Except your eyes. You have...

Harry: My mother's eyes.

Sirius Black: It's cruel that I got to spend so much time with James and Lily, and you so little. But know this; the ones that love us never really leave us. And you can always find them in here.

[puts his hand to Harry's heart]

Professor Snape: Expelliarmus! Ah, vengeance is sweet. How I hoped I'd be the one to catch you.

[to Lupin]

Professor Snape: I told Dumbledore you were helping an old friend enter the castle and now here's the proof.

Sirius Black: Brilliant, Snape - once again you've put your keen and penetrating mind to the task and as usual come to the wrong conclusion. Now if you'll excuse us, Remus and I have some unfinished business to attend to.

Professor Snape: [raises his wand at Black] Give me a reason. I beg you.

Professor Lupin: Severus, don't be a fool...

Sirius Black: He can't help it. It's habit by now.

Professor Lupin: Sirius, be quiet!

Sirius Black: Be quiet yourself, Remus!

Professor Snape: Listen to you two, quarrelling like an old married couple.

Sirius Black: Why don't you run along and play with your chemistry set?

Professor Snape: [puts his wand to Black's throat] I could do it, you know... But why deny the Dementors? They're so longing to see you.

[Sirius trembles]

Professor Snape: Do I detect a flicker of fear? Ah, yes. The Dementor's Kiss. One can only imagine what that must be like to endure. It's said to be nearly unbearable to witness, but I'll do my best.

Sirius Black: Enough talk,Remus! C'mon, let's kill him!

Professor Lupin: Wait!

Professor Lupin: Very well, kill him. But wait one more minute. Harry has the right to know why.

Harry: I know why! You betrayed my parents! You're the reason they're dead!

Professor Lupin: No, Harry, it wasn't him! Somebody did betray your parents, but it was somebody who, until quite recently, I believed to be dead.

Sirius Black: Peter Pettigrew! And he's in this room, right now! Come out, come out, Peter! Come out and play!

Professor Lupin: [commenting on Sirius' ragged looks] Finally, the flesh reflects the madness within.

Harry: But you're innocent!

Sirius Black: And you know it. And for now, that'll do.

Professor Lupin: [as Snape points his wand at Sirius's throat] Severus, don't be a fool...

Hermione: You attacked a teacher!

Harry: [to Lupin] Tell me about Peter Pettigrew!

Professor Lupin: He was at school with us! We thought he was our friend!

Harry: No, Pettigrew's dead!

[whirls around at Sirius]

Harry: You killed him!

Professor Lupin: [jumps in front of Sirius] No he didn't! I thought so, too until you mentioned seeing Pettigrew on the map!

Harry: The map was lying, then!

Sirius Black: That map never lies! Pettigrew's alive! And he's right there!

[points at Ron]

Ron: Me? He's mental!

Sirius Black: Not you! Your rat!

Ron: Scabbers has been in my family for...

Sirius Black: Twelve years! Curiously a long life for a rat! He's missing a toe, isn't he?

Ron: So what?

Harry: [about Ron's rat missing a toe and being Peter Pettigrew] All they could find left of Pettigrew was his...

Sirius Black: Finger! But then the coward cut it off so they would think he was dead! And then he transformed into a rat!

Harry: Show me.

[Sirius tries to take the rat from Ron, but Ron holds onto it]

Harry: Give into it, Ron.

Ron: What are you trying to do to him?

[Sirius finally gets a hold of the rat]

Ron: Scabbers! Leave him alone!

[tries to run toward Sirius, but Hermione holds him back]

Ron: Get off him! What are you doing?

[Sirius drops the rat, which runs while Sirius finally transforms it into Peter Petitgrew]

Peter Pettigrew: [realizes he's not a rat anymore] Remus, S-Sirius? My old friends!

[runs toward the door, but Lupin and Sirius block him]

Peter Pettigrew: Harry, l-look at you!

[walks toward Harry]

Peter Pettigrew: You look so much like your father! Like James, we were best friends!

Sirius Black: How dare you speak of him!

[Pettigrew scowls and runs away from Sirius]

Professor Lupin: You sold Lily and James to Voldemort, didn't you?

Peter Pettigrew: [to Sirius] What would you have done? What would you have done?

Sirius Black: I would have died!

[Pettigrew crawls under piano]

Sirius Black: I would have died rather than betray my friends!

Peter Pettigrew: [runs over to Harry, whispering to him] Harry, James wouldn't have wanted me killed! Your dad... your dad would have spared me! He would shown me mercy...!

[Lupin and Sirius yank him off Harry]

Sirius Black: You should have realized, Peter, that if Voldemort wouldn't kill you we would!

[he and Lupin pull out their wands and point them and Pettigrew]

Sirius Black: Together!

Harry: No!

Professor Lupin: Harry, could this man...

Harry: I know what he is, but we'll take him to the castle.

Peter Pettigrew: Bless you boy, bless you!

[kneels to Harry]

Harry: Get off me! I said we'll take you to the castle. After that, the dementors can have you.

Sirius Black: Only one will die tonight.

Harry Potter: This connection between me and Voldemort... what if the reason for it is that I am becoming more like him? I just feel so angry, all the time. What if after everything that I've been through, something's gone wrong inside me? What if I'm becoming bad?

Sirius Black: I want you to listen to me very carefully, Harry. You're not a bad person. You're a very good person, who bad things have happened to. Besides, the world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters. We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are.

Sirius Black: Get away from my Godson!

[punches Mr. Malfoy in the face]

Sirius Black: If anyone's got a right to know it's Harry. If it wasn't for him we wouldn't even know Voldemort was back! He's not a child, Molly!

Mrs. Weasley: He's not an adult either! He's not James, Sirius.

Sirius Black: He's not your son.

Mrs. Weasley: He's as good as! Who else as he got?

Sirius Black: He's got me!

Sirius Black: [to Harry] Nice one, James!

[looking at the tapestry with the Black family tree]

Sirius Black: I hated the lot of them. My parents, with their pure-blood mania... my repulsive cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange...

[he points to a scorched hole in the tapestry over his name]

Sirius Black: My mother did that after I ran away. Charming woman.

Kreacher: [to Harry] Nasty brat standing there as bold as brass. Harry Potter, the boy who stopped the Dark Lord. Friend of Mudbloods and blood-traitors alike. If my poor mistress only knew...

Sirius Black: Kreacher! That's enough of your bile. Away with you!

Kreacher: [smiles] Of course Master. Kreacher lives to serve the noble house of Black.

Sirius Black: It's been 14 years, and still not a day goes by that I don't miss your dad.

Sirius Black: I want you to take the others and get out of here.

Harry Potter: What? No, I'm staying with you!

Sirius Black: You've done beautifully. Now let me take it from here.

Sirius Black: We think Voldemort wants to build up his army again.

[everyone turns to look at Sirius]

Sirius Black: Fourteen years ago he had huge numbers at his command, not just witches and wizards but all manner of dark creatures. He has been recruiting heavily and we have been attempting to do the same. But gathering followers isn't all he's interested in...

[Moody coughs loudly from the corner]

Sirius Black: We believe Voldemort may be after something...

Alastor 'Mad-Eye' Moody: Sirius!

Sirius Black: Something he didn't have last time.

Harry Potter: You mean, like a weapon?

[Sirius opens his mouth to speak]

Mrs. Weasley: No! That's enough! He's just a boy, you say much more and you might as well induct him into the Order straight away.

Harry Potter: Good! I want to join! If Voldemort's raising an army then I want to fight!

Lord Voldemort: I need that prophecy.

Sirius Black: You'll have to kill me.

Lord Voldemort: Oh, I will.

Arthur Weasley: [raising his glass] To Harry Potter, without whom I may not be here. To Harry.

Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, George Weasley, Fred Weasley, Ginny Weasley, Mrs. Weasley: [raising their cups] To Harry

Sirius Black: [at doorway] To Harry.

Sirius Black: Fudge is using all his power, including his influence at the Daily Prophet, to smear anyone who claims the Dark Lord has returned.

Harry Potter: Why?

Remus Lupin: The Minister thinks Dumbledore's after his job.

Harry Potter: But that's insane! No one in their right mind could believe that Dumbledore...

Remus Lupin: Exactly the point. Fudge isn't in his right mind. It's been twisted and warped by fear. Now fear makes people do terrible things, Harry. The last time Voldemort gained power he almost destroyed everything we hold most dear. Now he's returned, and I'm afraid the Minister will do almost anything to avoid facing that terrifying truth.

Sirius Black: The latest intelligence is that Fudge doesn't want you trained in combat.

Ron Weasley: Combat? What does he think, that we're forming some sort of wizard army?

Sirius Black: That's exactly what he thinks. That Dumbledore is assembling his own forces to take on the Ministry. He's becoming more paranoid by the minute. The others wouldn't want me telling you this, Harry, but things aren't going at all well with the Order. Fudge is blocking the truth at every turn, and these disappearances are just how it started before. Voldemort is on the move.

Sirius Black: This is my parent's house. I offered it to Dumbledore as headquarters for the Order. It's about the only useful thing I've been able to do.

Sirius Black: When all this is over we'll be a proper family. You'll see.

Harry Potter: Sirius, what are you doing here? If somebody sees you...

Sirius Black: I had to see you off, didn't I? What's life without a little risk?

Harry Potter: I just don't want to see you get shut back in Azkaban.

Sirius Black: [to Harry about the picture] The original Order of the Phoenix.

Sirius Black: [to Harry] It's your turn now!
