Fu: [Fu talks about his family life] You know, my father was a crook. I got it from him. I just hope my son doesn't turn out like me.

Ko Chow: Is your old man still in jail?

Fu: He's been dead for ten years. My father was stupid. He got shot by the police.

Ko Chow: So you despise them?

Fu: Not at all. They were just doing their job, so why should I?

Ko Chow: [after Wah is killed, Inspector Lau asks Ko Chow to go undercover again, but Chow wants out] I sent in my resignation.

Inspector Lau: I never got it.

Ko Chow: Look for it.

Inspector Lau: Chow, only you know the people that Wah did. You asked for this, remember? You can resign... once we've captured the killers.

Ko Chow: Last time with Shing, it went bad.

Inspector Lau: What went bad? We got him.

Ko Chow: I betrayed a friend.

Inspector Lau: You helped capture scum, all right? This friend ordered the deaths of hundreds. He had to die. You're a cop. Who told you to make friends with them?

Ko Chow: [frustrated] What else could I have done? You haven't been there!

[Chow pauses for a moment before speaking again]

Ko Chow: That guy to a bullet for me, what else do you expect? I can't go through that again. Can't you please send somebody else? Why won't you just accept my resignation? Let me go Uncle Lau.

Inspector Lau: [Lau thinks about it for a moment, but decides that he can't let Ko Chow go just yet] You should go and visit your grandmother.

[with that, Lau turns and leaves the morgue, instructing his men to let Chow go when he's ready]
