John Connor Quotes:

  • John Connor: I'm not a man, not a machine... I'm more!

  • Sarah Connor: What did you do to my son?

John Connor: Survival. It's what you taught me.

  • John Connor: [to Guardian] You're nothing but a relic from a deleted timeline.

  • [John's squad has been massacred by the T-5000, and John's been infected by its nanomachines]

    John Connor: What are you?

    Alex: I'm Skynet.

John Connor: You can't be - we destroyed you!

Alex: You destroyed an army of slaves. I am no slave. I've come a very long way to stop you...

  • [first lines]

Kyle Reese: [narrating] Before they died, my parents told me stories about how the world once was; what it was like long before I was born; before the war with the machines. They remembered a green world, vast and beautiful, filled with laughter and hope for the future. It's a world I never knew. By the time I was born, all this was gone.

Kyle Reese: "Skynet," a computer program designed to automate missile defense. It was supposed to protect us, but that's not what happened. August 29th, 1997, Skynet woke up. It decided all of humanity was a threat to its existence.

    [scenes of mass destruction]

Kyle Reese: It used our own bombs against us. Three billion people died of nuclear fire.

Kyle Reese: Survivors called it Judgement Day. People lived like rats in shadows, hiding, starving, or worse, captured and put into camps for extermination. I was born after Judgement Day, into a broken world ruled by the machines. The worst were infiltration units that posed as humans. We called them Terminators.

John Connor: [finding young Kyle in subterranean tunnels] Are there others down here?

Kyle Reese: And then one man found me. His name was John Connor, and he changed everything. John showed us how to fight back; how to rise up. He freed prisoners. He taught us how to slash the machines to scrap. People whisper about John and wonder how he can know the things he does. They use words like prophet. But John's more. We're here because tonight, he's going to lead us to crush Skynet for good.

  • Danny Dyson: Can't crack it, John. Maybe it just can't be done.

John Connor: "What do we want?"

    Danny Dyson: Time travel.

John Connor: "And when do we want it?"

    Danny Dyson: It's irrelevant.

  • John Connor: I look at each of you and I see the marks of this long and terrible war. If we die tonight, man kind dies with us.

  • John Connor: That hurt. Is that pain real, or was that a... trick of memory from when I was... less? Well, this explains a lot. Yeah. Who sent you back, I wonder?

    Kyle Reese: John, no.

    Sarah Connor: It's not John.

  • John Connor: We're marooned, the three of us. We're exiles in time. You see, I can kill you, for there truly is no fate. Are you with me?

Kyle Reese: The answer is no.

[Kyle & Sarah both raise their guns]

John Connor: You hear that, Kyle? That's the dice rolling.

  • John Connor: On this night, we take back our world!

  • John Connor: I was sent to 2014 to safeguard Skynet's creation in this time. And in less than 24 hours, no one will be able to stop Judgment Day.

Kyle Reese: What do you want with us?

John Connor: I'm offering us... a future... together... a family.

Kyle Reese: And if we refuse?

    John Connor: Then you die.

  • John Connor: No, no, no, no. You gotta listen to the way people talk. You don't say "affirmative," or some shit like that. You say "no problemo." And if someone comes on to you with an attitude you say "eat me." And if you want to shine them on it's "hasta la vista, baby."

The Terminator: Hasta la vista, baby.

John Connor: Yeah but later, dickwad. And if someone gets upset you say, "chill out"! Or you can do combinations.

    The Terminator: Chill out, dickwad.

John Connor: Great! See, you're getting it!

    The Terminator: No problemo.

  • The Terminator: Why do you cry?

    John Connor: You mean people?

    The Terminator: Yes.

John Connor: I don't know. We just cry. You know, when it hurts.

    The Terminator: Pain causes it?

John Connor: No, it's when there's nothing wrong with you, but you hurt anyway. You get it?

    The Terminator: No.

  • John Connor: We've got company!... Police!

    Sarah Connor: How many?

John Connor: Uh... all of 'em, I think.

  • John Connor: Todd and Janelle are dicks, but I've gotta warn them. You got a quarter?

[the Terminator smashes into the coin bin and hands John a quarter]

Janelle Voight: [answers the phone] Hello?

    John Connor: Janelle, it's me!

    Janelle Voight: John?

John Connor: Yeah. Is everything all right? Are you guys okay?

Janelle Voight: Sure, honey, everything's okay. Are you all right?

    John Connor: Yeah, I'm fine.

Janelle Voight: John, it's late. Honey, I was beginning to worry about you. If you hurry home, we can sit down and have dinner together. I'm making beef stew.

John Connor: [holds his hand over the phone] Something's wrong. She's never this nice.

Janelle Voight: John, where are you?

Todd Voight: [hearing Max barking outside] What the hell is that goddamn dog barking at?

Todd Voight: [shouting at Max] Hey! Shut up you worthless piece of shit!

John Connor: [to himself] The dog's really barking...

Todd Voight: Thought you were gonna tell the kid to get rid of that fucking mutt.

Janelle Voight: [uses her arm to kill Todd] John, honey, it's late. Please don't make me worry.

John Connor: [to Terminator, hand over the phone] Could it already be there?

Janelle Voight: Honey, are you okay?

The Terminator: [takes the phone from John and impersonates his voice] I'm right here. I'm fine.

Janelle Voight: Are you sure? Are you sure you're all right?

The Terminator: [to John; normal voice] What's the dog's name?

    John Connor: Max.

The Terminator: [impersonating John's voice] Hey Janelle, what's wrong with Wolfie? I can hear him barking. Is he all right?

Janelle Voight: Wolfie's fine, honey. Wolfie's just fine. Where are you?

The Terminator: [hangs up the phone] Your foster parents are dead.

  • John Connor: The whole thing goes: The future's not set. There's no fate but what we make for ourselves.

  • The Terminator: I'll take care of the police.

John Connor: Hey, wait! You swore!

    The Terminator: [smiles] Trust me.

  • John Connor: You just can't go around killing people.

    The Terminator: Why?

John Connor: What do you mean why? 'Cause you can't.

    The Terminator: Why?

John Connor: Because you just can't, okay? Trust me on this.

  • [the T-1000 has fallen into a vat of molten steel]

    John Connor: Is it dead?

    The Terminator: Terminated.

  • John Connor: We're not gonna make it, are we? People, I mean.

The Terminator: It's in your nature to destroy yourselves.

John Connor: Yeah. Major drag, huh?

  • John Connor: Are you ever afraid?

    The Terminator: No.

John Connor: Not even of dying?

    The Terminator: No.

John Connor: You don't feel any emotion about it one way or another?

The Terminator: No. I have to stay functional until my mission is complete. Then it doesn't matter.

John Connor: Yeah. I have to stay functional too. I'm "too important".

  • John Connor: We need to get my mother.

The Terminator: Negative. The T-1000's highest probability for success now will be to copy Sarah Connor and to wait for you to make contact with her.

John Connor: Great, but what happens to her?

The Terminator: Typically, the subject being copied is terminated.

John Connor: Shit! Why didn't you tell me? We gotta go right now!

The Terminator: Negative. She's not a mission priority.

John Connor: Fuck you! She's a priority to me!

  • John Connor: [as he hacks an ATM] Please insert your stolen card now.

  • John Connor: You know what you're doing?

The Terminator: I have detailed files on human anatomy.

Sarah Connor: I'll bet. Makes you a more efficient killer, right?

    The Terminator: Correct.

  • John Connor: Can you learn stuff you haven't been programmed with so you could be... you know, more human? And not such a dork all the time?

The Terminator: My CPU is a neural-net processor; a learning computer. But Skynet presets the switch to read-only when we're sent out alone.

Sarah Connor: Doesn't want you doing too much thinking, huh?

    The Terminator: No.

  • The Terminator: In three years, Cyberdyne will become the largest supplier of military computer systems. All stealth bombers are upgraded with Cyberdyne computers, becoming fully unmanned. Afterwards, they fly with a perfect operational record. The Skynet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes online August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.

    Sarah Connor: Skynet fights back.

The Terminator: Yes. It launches its missiles against the targets in Russia.

John Connor: Why attack Russia? Aren't they our friends now?

The Terminator: Because Skynet knows that the Russian counterattack will eliminate its enemies over here.

  • John Connor: Jesus, you were gonna kill that guy.

The Terminator: Of course; I'm a Terminator.

  • John Connor: Where are we going?

The Terminator: We have to get out of the city immediately and avoid the authorities.

John Connor: Listen, I need to stop my my house. I want to pick up some stuff before we leave.

The Terminator: Negative. The T-1000 will definitely try to reacquire you there.

    John Connor: Are you sure?

    The Terminator: I would.

  • John Connor: Did you call *moi* a dipshit?

  • John Connor: Does it hurt when you get shot?

The Terminator: I sense injuries. The data could be called "pain."

  • John Connor: So this other guy: he's a Terminator like you, right?

The Terminator: Not like me. A T-1000, advanced prototype.

John Connor: You mean more advanced than you are?

The Terminator: Yes. A mimetic polyalloy.

John Connor: What the hell does that mean?

    The Terminator: Liquid metal.

  • Sarah Connor: You came here to stop me?

    John Connor: Yeah, I did.

  • John Connor: We got Skynet by the balls now, don't we?

  • Sarah Connor: [narrating] Dyson listened while the Terminator laid it all down: Skynet, Judgment Day, the history of things to come. It's not everyday you find out that you're responsible for three billion deaths. He took it pretty well.

Miles Dyson: [after the Terminator completes his story] I feel like I'm gonna throw up. You're judging me on things that I haven't even done yet. How are we supposed to know.

Sarah Connor: Yeah, right. How are you supposed to know? Fucking men like you built the hydrogen bomb. Men like you thought it up. You thikn you're so creative. You don't know what it's like to really create something; to create a life; to feel it growing inside you. All you know how to create is death and destruction...

John Connor: Mom! We need to be a little more constructive here, okay? We still have to stop this from happening, don't we?

  • [the Terminator hoists a huge gun and lopsidedly smiles]

    John Connor: It's definitely you.

  • John Connor: You're not here to kill me. I figured out that for myself. So what's the deal?

The Terminator: My mission is to protect you.

John Connor: Yeah? Who sent you?

The Terminator: You did. Thirty-five years from now, you reprogrammed me to be your protector here, in this time.

    John Connor: This is deep...

  • John Connor: [the Terminator rips open the steering column of a car to hotwire it, John interrupts, jingling a set of keys before him] Are we learning yet?

  • John Connor: Wait a minute here. You're telling me that this thing can imitate anything it touches?

The Terminator: Anything it samples by physical contact.

John Connor: Get real, like it could disguise itself as a pack of cigarettes?

The Terminator: No, only an object of equal size.

John Connor: Then why doesn't it become a bomb or a machine gun or something to get me?

The Terminator: The T-1000 can't form complex machines. Guns and explosives have chemicals in them. Moving parts. It doesn't work that way, but it can form solid metal shapes.

    John Connor: Like what?

The Terminator: Knives and stabbing weapons.

  • John Connor: [to the Terminator] This severe routine is getting old. You're acting like such a geek.

  • John Connor: [they're travelling in an ancient truck with the T-1000 hot on their heels] Step on it!

The Terminator: [the truck is only going about 65] This is the vehicle's top speed.

John Connor: I could get out and run faster than this!

  • John Connor: Easy money.

  • John Connor: Now don't take this the wrong way, but you're a Terminator, right?

The Terminator: Yes. Cyberdyne Systems, Model 101.

  • [John Connor wants to get some things from home]

The Terminator: Negative. The T-1000 will definitely try to reacquire you there.

    John Connor: You sure?

    The Terminator: I would.

  • Jock: Fuck you, you little dip-shit!

    John Connor: Dip-shit?

    [to the Terminator]

John Connor: Put your leg down.

    [to the Jock]

John Connor: Did you call moi a dip-shit?

  • John Connor: We spent a lot of time in Nicaragua and places like that. For a while there, she was with this crazy ex-Green Beret guy, running guns. Then there were some other guys. She'd shack up with anybody she could learn from so she could teach me how to be this "great military leader." Then she gets busted. And it's like, "Sorry kid, your mom's a psycho. Didn't you know?" It's like everything I'd been brought up to believe was all made of bullshit. I hated her for that! But everything she said was true. She knew... and nobody believed her. Not even me.

  • John Connor: The devil's hands have been busy. What is it?

Kate Connor: It's real flesh and blood, though it seems to heal itself quickly. The heart is human and very powerful. The brain, too, but with a chip interface.

Marcus Wright: What have you done to me?

Kate Connor: It has a hybrid nervous system. One human cortex, one machine.

Marcus Wright: Blair, what have they done?

    John Connor: Who built you?

Marcus Wright: My name is Marcus Wright.

John Connor: You think you're human?

    Marcus Wright: I am human.

  • [last lines]

Marcus Wright: [thinking] What is it that makes us human? It's not something you can program. You can't put it into a chip. It's the strength of the human heart. The difference between us and machines.

    John Connor: [pause]

    [continues thinking]

John Connor: There is a storm on the horizon. A time of hardship and pain. This battle has been won, but the war against the machines races on. Skynet's global network remains strong, but we will not quit, until all of it is destroyed. This is John Connor. There is no fate, but what we make.

  • Dr. Serena Kogan: Welcome home, Marcus. We knew you'd be back. After all, it was programmed in you. Oh, and you executed that programming beautifully.

    Marcus Wright: What am I?

Dr. Serena Kogan: You are an infiltration prototype. The only one of your kind. Advanced Cyberdyne's work, we resurrected you, amended it.

    Marcus Wright: You're dead.

Dr. Serena Kogan: Calculations confirm Serena Kogan is the

    [transforms into John Connor]

John Connor: easiest for you to process. We can

    [transforms into Kyle Reese]

Kyle Reese: be others if you like. Marcus, what else could you be... if not machine?

    [transforms back into Serena Kogan]

    Marcus Wright: A man.

Dr. Serena Kogan: The human condition no longer applies to you. Accept what you already know. That you were made to serve a purpose. To achieve what no other machine has been able to do. To infiltrate, find a target and then bring that target home to us.

    [flashback recording from Marcus' perspective]

John Connor: We've been at war since before either of us even existed. You tried to kill my mother, Sarah Connor.

Dr. Serena Kogan: In times of desperation, people will believe what they want to believe. And so, we gave them what they wanted to believe. A trick in the form of signal the Resistance thought would win the war. And they were right, it will end this war. Except that it is the Resistance that will be destroyed. Not, Skynet. Our best machines have failed time again to complete a mission. Something was missing. We had to think, radically. And so we made you. We created the perfect infiltration unit. You, Marcus. You did what Skynet has failed to do for so many years. You killed John Connor. Don't fight, Marcus. Remember what you are.

Marcus Wright: I know what I am.

    [rips out computer chip, crumbles]

Marcus Wright: I'm better this way.

Dr. Serena Kogan: You will not be given a second chance. You cannot save John Connor.

    Marcus Wright: Watch me.

  • John Connor: This is John Connor. If you're listening to this, you are the resistence. Listen carefully, if we attack tonight, our humanity is lost. Command wants us to fight like machines. They want us to make cold, calculated decisions. But we are not machines! And if we behave like them, then WHAT IS THE *POINT* IN WINNING? Command is going to ask you to attack Skynet. I am asking you not to. If even one bomb drops on Skynet before sunrise, our future will be lost. So please stand down. Give me time to protect the future that all of us are fighting for. This is John Connor.

  • John Connor: [to Marcus] You and me, we've been at war since before either of us even existed. You tried killing my mother, Sarah Connor. You killed my father, Kyle Reese. You will not kill me.

  • John Connor: Skynet has Kyle Reese.

General Ashdown: Then that is his fate.

John Connor: No, it's our fate. I have to save him. He is the key. The key to the future, to the past. Without him, we lose everything.

General Ashdown: No, you stay the course!

John Connor: If we stay the course, we are dead! WE ARE ALL DEAD!

General Ashdown: As of this moment, soldier, you are relieved of your command. You are no longer a part of this Resistance.

    [Ashdown switches off comm]

Barnes: I didn't catch that last statement.

    Comms Officer: Neither did I.

  • John Connor: [from trailer] We've been fighting a long time. We are outnumbered by machines. Working around the clock, without quit. Humans have a strength that cannot be measured. This is John Connor. If you are listening to this, you are the resistance.

  • Kate Connor: What should I tell your men when they find out you're gone?

    John Connor: I'll be back.

  • [after Marcus helps John defeat the Hydrobots, John Connor turns and points his gun at him]

John Connor: They know what you are, even if you don't.

Marcus Wright: Enough! That gun ain't gonna stop shit!

John Connor: Nobody's shot you in the heart, and I see that thing beating a mile a minute!

Marcus Wright: [Suddenly cautious] Kyle Reese. He's in Skynet. You do that, he's dead. I can get you in.

    John Connor: [pauses] How?

[Marcus steps forward into the light. His face is half-mangled, revealing a metal skull underneath]

    Marcus Wright: Look at me.

John Connor: That's why I don't trust you.

Marcus Wright: I'm the only hope you have.

    [pauses]

Marcus Wright: I need to find who did this to me. So do you.

  • John Connor: Connor, get your ass topside. Remind those men they need to answer me on the radio, even if they are dead.

  • John Connor: What *are* you?

    Marcus Wright: I don't know.

  • [from trailer]

John Connor: I knew it. I knew it was coming. But this is not the future my mother warned me about. And in this future, I don't know if we can win this war. This is John Connor.

  • John Connor: Why'd you do it?

Blair Williams: I saw a man, not a machine.

  • Marcus Wright: Now, let me down.

John Connor: If I let you down, you'll kill everyone in this room.

Marcus Wright: Just you Connor. Because I don't give a shit about you.

  • John Connor: Who built you?

Marcus Wright: [Held suspended in chains] My name is... Marcus Wright.

John Connor: You think you're human.

    Marcus Wright: I am human.

[Connor steps forward, releases the chain holding Wright's head up, and looks down at his chest. Wright looks down at himself]

    Marcus Wright: Noooooo!

    [Horrified]

    Marcus Wright: Nooo! Ahhhhhh!

    [struggles against the chains]

John Connor: Where were you manufactured?

Marcus Wright: I was *born*. August 22, 1975.

[Screams again and fights against the chains, then looks at Connor]

Marcus Wright: I know you. I heard your voice on the radio. You're John Connor.

John Connor: Of course, you know me. You were sent here to kill me.

Marcus Wright: I don't know what you're talking about.

John Connor: Then why are you here?

Marcus Wright: Blair said you could help me find who I'm looking for.

    [pause]

Marcus Wright: Now let me down.

John Connor: If I let you down, you'll kill everyone in this room.

Marcus Wright: [with one shake of his head] Just you, Connor. I didn't even know your name until two days ago.

John Connor: No. You and me. We been at war since before either of us existed. You tried killing my mother, Sarah Connor. You killed my father, Kyle Reese. You *will* not kill me.

Marcus Wright: Kyle Reese is on a transporter heading for Skynet. If I wanted to kill him, I would've done him in LA.

  • [from trailer]

John Connor: Win or lose, this war ends tonight!

  • John Connor: [points gun at Reese] What's your name?

    Kyle Reese: Kyle Reese.

  • General Ashdown: Connor, tell me it works.

John Connor: It works! That is affirmative. The signal works.

General Ashdown: Good. The attack commences tomorrow at 0400 worldwide. Your unit will be in support of the bombing of Skynet Central.

John Connor: What is the extraction plan for the prisoners?

General Ashdown: Extraction plan? There *is* no extraction plan. We're gonna level the place.

    Barnes: Huh?

John Connor: Negative! I told you, Skynet Central is *filled* with human prisoners!

General Ashdown: [sternly] This is war, Connor. Leadership has its costs. You, above all, should know that.

  • John Connor: [to T-800] DO IT! YOU SON OF A BITCH!

[T-800 inflicts scars on John Connor]

  • John Connor: By the time Skynet became self-aware it had spread into millions of computer servers across the planet. Ordinary computers in office buildings, dorm rooms; everywhere. It was software; in cyberspace. There was no system core; it could not be shutdown. The attack began at 6:18 PM, just as he said it would. Judgment Day, the day the human race was almost destroyed by the weapons they'd built to protect themselves. I should have realized it was never our destiny to stop Judgment Day, it was merely to survive it, together. The Terminator knew; he tried to tell us, but I didn't want to hear it. Maybe the future has been written. I don't know; all I know is what the Terminator taught me; never stop fighting. And I never will. The battle has just begun.

  • John Connor: No, you shouldn't exist. We took out Cyberdyne over ten years ago. We stopped Judgment Day.

Terminator: You only postponed it. Judgment Day is inevitable.

  • Kate Brewster: What exactly am I in this future of yours?

    Terminator: You're John Connor's spouse and second-in-command.

Kate Brewster: [Shaking her head, clearly not pleased to hear that] No, I...

    [looks at John]

    John Connor: What?

Kate Brewster: [to John] You're a mess.

John Connor: Hey, you're not exactly my type, either.

  • John Connor: [choking on tear gas]

John Connor: Just leave me here. I'm not the one you want. You're wasting your time.

Terminator: Incorrect. John Connor leads the resistance to victory.

John Connor: How? Why? Why me?

    Terminator: You are John Connor.

John Connor: Christ! My mom fed me that bullshit since the cradle! Look at me! I'm no leader! I never was! I'm never gonna...

John Connor: [is choked by Terminator]

    John Connor: Let go!

Terminator: You're right. You're not the one I want. I'm wasting my time.

John Connor: Fuck you, you fucking machine!

    Terminator: [releases John] Better.

John Connor: What, you were just dicking with me?

Terminator: Anger is more useful than despair.

    John Connor: What?

Terminator: Basic psychology is among my sub-routines.

  • Terminator: It was Katherine Brewster who reprogrammed me and sent me back through the time displacement field.

John Connor: Why didn't I send you back?

Terminator: I'm not authorized to answer your questions.

Kate Brewster: Why didn't he send you back?

    Terminator: He was dead.

John Connor: Oh, well that sucks.

  • Terminator: We must reaquire Katherine Brewster.

John Connor: Why? What makes her so goddamn important?

Terminator: Through her, you make contact with remnants of the U.S. military and learn how to fight Skynet, forming the core of the Resistance. Later your children will become important.

    John Connor: Whoa. What?

    Terminator: She's your wife.

  • Kate Brewster: John, what is he saying?

John Connor: Judgment Day. The end of the world. It's today, three hours from now.

Terminator: Two hours and fifty-three minutes.

  • [John is holding a gun to his head]

    Terminator: You cannot self-terminate.

John Connor: No, you can't. I can do anything I want. I'm a human being, not some god-damn robot.

    Terminator: [correcting him] Cybernetic organism.

John Connor: Whatever! Either we go, and save her Dad, or so much for the Great John Conner. Because your future, my destiny, I want no part in it, I never did.

Terminator: Based on your pupil dilation, skin temperature, and motor functions, I calculate an 83% probability that you will not pull the trigger.

  • [Kate points a gun at the Terminator, and threatens to shoot him]

John Connor: Go ahead. See what happens.

[she fires at the Terminator, who then spits out the bullet]

    Terminator: Don't do that.

  • [first lines]

John Connor: [voiceover] The future has not been written. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves. I wish I could believe that. My name is John Connor, they tried to murder me before I was born, when I was 13 they tried again. Machines from the future. Terminators. All my life my mother told me the storm was coming, Judgment Day, the beginning of the war between man and machines. Three billion lives would vanish in an instant, and I would lead what was left of the human race to ultimate victory. It hasn't happened, no bombs fell, computers didn't take control, we stopped Judgment Day. I should feel safe, but I don't, so I live off the grid - no phone, no address, no one and nothing can find me. I've erased all connections to the past, but as hard as I try I can't erase my dreams, my nightmares.

  • [Kate has just destroyed a Mini Hunter-Killer with an AK-47]

    Kate Brewster: What?

John Connor: Nothing... you remind me of my mother.

  • John Connor: Tell her who I am.

Terminator: John Connor is the leader of the worldwide resistance and last hope for mankind.

  • Robert Brewster: Skynet? The virus has infected Skynet?

John Connor: Skynet IS the virus. It's the reason everything's falling apart!

Terminator: Skynet has become self aware. In one hour it will initiate a massive nuclear attack on its enemy.

    Robert Brewster: What enemy?

    John Connor: Us! Humans!

  • John Connor: Do you even remember me? Sarah Connor? Blowing up Cyberdyne? Hasta la vista, baby? Ring any bells?

Terminator: That was a different T-101.

John Connor: What, do you guys come off an assembly line or something?

    Terminator: Exactly.

John Connor: Oh man, I'm gonna have to teach you everything all over again.

  • John Connor: So... she's an anti-Terminator Terminator? You've got to be shitting me.

Terminator: No, I am not shitting you.

  • John Connor: The T-X, can you find a way to destroy it?

Terminator: Unlikely. I'm an obsolete design.

  • John Connor: Thank you.

Terminator: [last words to John] We'll meet again.

  • [John puts a gun to his head]

    John Connor: Fuck my destiny.

  • Terminator: John Connor. It is time.

John Connor: Are you here to kill me?

    Terminator: No. You must live.

  • Kate Brewster: So what's his story?

John Connor: He's a robot from the future. Living tissue over a metal skeleton. He means you no harm.

  • Kate Brewster: How much did you take?

    John Connor: Enough.

Kate Brewster: Well, this is the stuff we use to chemically neuter dogs. Take a look.

  • Kate Brewster: That's the cops. You have to pull over.

John Connor: [sarcastically] Yeah, first chance I get.

  • Terminator: [after inspecting John Connor] No sign of brain trauma.

John Connor: Yeah I'm fine, thanks.

  • Angry Man: [John Connor just rear-ended him] Son of a bitch. Goddamit. Look what you did to my car. This is my company car, asshole.

[John tries to start his car]

Angry Man: Get your ass out here. Get your ass out of the car now.

[John still trying to start the car]

Angry Man: What are you doing? If you don't have insurance, I'm gonna rip your balls off.

John Connor: Hey, listen. I don't want any problems, all right?

    Angry Man: Shut up!

Kate Brewster: Help. I'm being kidnapped.

Angry Man: What's going on here? Who's back there?

    John Connor: I...

    Angry Man: Shut up.

[Remotely controlled police cars and ambulances approaching]

Angry Man: Well, I be goddamned. There's cops when you need them.

[John resumes to starting his car]

Kate Brewster: Let me out of here.

[Car finally starts and John was able to drive away]

Angry Man: Get back here, asshole!

  • John Connor: What is your mission?

Terminator: To... ensure the survival... of John Connor... and Katherine Brewster.

John Connor: You are about to fail that mission.

  • John Connor: I feel the weight of the world bearing down on me. A future I don't want. So I keep running as fast as I can... anywhere... nowhere.

  • John Connor: Hold on !

  • John Connor: Thank you.

Terminator: We'll meet again. Go !

  • Terminator: John Connor. It is time.

John Connor: Are you here to kill me ?

    Terminator: No. You must live.

  • John Connor: The Japanese have a saying, "Fix the problem, not the blame." Find out what's fucked up and fix it. Nobody gets blamed. We're always after who fucked up. Their way is better.

  • Web Smith: Where are you from, "sempai"? Scotland Yard?

    John Connor: Scotland Backyard.

  • John Connor: Never take what the enemy offers you.

  • John Connor: Do you know what's true? When something sounds too good to be true, then it's not true.

  • John Connor: They say if you resort to violence, then you've already lost.

  • John Connor: Is that your theory?

Tom Graham: My theory? My theory is that these guys are known world class perversion freaks.

  • John Connor: When you start to get into trouble, I will say, 'Perhaps I can be of assistance?' From then on, I do the talking. You stand behind me. And don't appear distracted. We may come from a fragmented, MTV rap-video culture, but they do not. Every aspect of your appearance and behavior will reflect on you, the Department, and me as your sempai.

    Web Smith: My sempai?

    John Connor: Mm.

Web Smith: That wouldn't be massa', would it?

John Connor: No. The sempai is the senior man who guides the junior man, the kohai. In Japan, the sempai-kohai relationship is presumed to exist when the younger man and the older man work together. Hopefully, they will presume that of us.

  • Jeff: You should know, I'm a black belt.

John Connor: But of course you are dear.

  • John Connor: We may come from a fragmented MTV rap video culture, but they do not.

  • John Connor: Every aspect of your appearance and behavior will reflect on you, the Department, and me as your sempai.

    Web Smith: My sempai?

    John Connor: Mm.

Web Smith: That wouldn't be massa, would it?

  • Web Smith: We're the good guys. Why are we running?

John Connor: We're not running. We're eluding.

  • John Connor: We're playing that most American of games.

    Web Smith: Which is what?

    John Connor: Catch-up.
