triangulation
English
Etymology
From Medieval Latin triangul?ti?nem (“triangulation”), from triangul?re (“to triangulate”) + -ti?nem (suffix forming nouns relating to some actions or the results of actions). Triangul?re is derived from triangul?ris (“triangular”), from triangulus (“triangular; triangle”), from tr?s (“three”) + angulus (“angle; corner”). The English word is analysable as triangulate +? -ion, and is cognate with French triangulation.
