Admiral Piett Quotes:

  • Stardestroyer Controller #1: Sir! We've lost our bridge deflector shield!

Admiral Piett: Intensify the forward batteries, I don't want anything to get through.

[A-Wing careenes towards Super Star Destroyer Bridge]

Admiral Piett: Intensify forward fire power!

    Imperial Officer: Too late!

  • Darth Vader: Do they have a code clearance?

Admiral Piett: It's an older code, sir, but it checks out. I was about to clear them.

  • Admiral Piett: Shall I hold them?

Darth Vader: No. Leave them to me. I will deal with them myself.

  • Admiral Piett: I have my orders from the Emperor himself. He has something special planned for them. We only need to keep them from escaping.

  • Darth Vader: Yes, Admiral?

Admiral Piett: Our ships have sighted the Millennium Falcon, Lord. But it has entered an asteroid field and we can not risk...

Darth Vader: [interrupting] Asteroids do not concern me, Admiral! I want that ship, not excuses!

  • [Darth Vader has just learned of Admiral Ozzel's big blunder, and activates a viewscreen]

Admiral Ozzel: [appearing onscreen with Captain Piett] Lord Vader, the fleet has moved out of lightspeed and we're preparing to...

[Ozzel stops, and suddenly begins to choke, clutching at his throat]

Darth Vader: You have failed me for the last time, Admiral! Captain Piett?

    Captain Piett: Yes, my lord?

Darth Vader: Make ready to land our troops beyond their energy field, and deploy the fleet, so that nothing gets off the system.

[beside Piett, Admiral Ozzel utters one last strangled gasp, and falls over dead]

Darth Vader: You are in command now... Admiral Piett!

Admiral Piett: Thank you, Lord Vader.

  • [reacting to the arrival of Boba Fett and others]

Admiral Piett: Bounty hunters. We don't need that scum.

  • Admiral Piett: Lord Vader, our ships have completed their scan of the area and found nothing. If the Millennium Falcon went into light-speed, it'll be on the other side of the galaxy by now.

Darth Vader: Alert all commands. Calculate every possible destination along their last known trajectory.

Admiral Piett: Yes, my Lord. We'll find them.

Darth Vader: Don't fail me again, Admiral.

  • Darth Vader: Yes, Admiral, what is it?

Admiral Piett: The Emperor commands you make contact with him.

Darth Vader: Move the ship out of the asteroid field so that we can send a clear transmission.

  • Captain Needa: [on a hologram] They were damaged, Lord Vader, the last time they appeared in any of our scopes. Considering the amount of damage we've sustained, they must be destroyed.

Darth Vader: [not on the hologram] No, Captain. They're alive. I want every ship available to sweep the asteroid field until they are found.

[Needa bows and the hologram disappears]

Admiral Piett: [walks up to Vader] Lord Vader.

Darth Vader: Yes, Admiral, what is it?

Admiral Piett: The Emperor commands you to make contact with him.

Darth Vader: Move the ship out of the asteroid field so we can send a clear transmission.

    Admiral Piett: Yes, master.

[Vader goes into his room and bows as the Emperor appears on a giant hologram]

Darth Vader: What is thy bidding, my master?

Emperor Palpatine: There is a great disturbance in the Force.

Darth Vader: I have felt it.

Emperor Palpatine: We have a new enemy. Luke Skywalker.

    Darth Vader: Yes, my master.

Emperor Palpatine: He could destroy us.

Darth Vader: He's just a boy. Obi-Wan can no longer help him.

Emperor Palpatine: The Force is strong with him. The son of Skywalker cannot become a Jedi.

Darth Vader: If he could be turned, he would become a powerful ally.

Emperor Palpatine: Yes... Yes. He would be a great ascent. Can it be done?

Darth Vader: He will join us, or die, my master.

    [bows]
